Earth Hour is a mere publicity stunt

I find it a bit frustrating.

Understand the objective of the event.

Even if the objective is not met. You do save that many kWs.
Its a start.

You need to start from somewhere.

Duh it is a publicity stunt, to make the public recognise this issue and put effort into making a change. But it is NOT a mere publicity stunt.

I think it is very frustrating to see these ignorant people around. They don't see the big picture, that or they are too focus on the end product that they don't see this as an indirect step towards the product.

My point of earth hour? Doesn't hurt, no harm done. Benefit? At least one hour of energy saved, feel-good factor + possible followups? whats the cost? 0

If you are 21+ and you recognise climate change and is doing something about it, then good on you, you are way ahead than most people here in Malaysia.
If you don't know much about climate change and what you can do to help.. then this is your chance to learn about it, and contribute.

In the end, its not about the one hour energy saved. Its about the number of people affected by the event and inspired to take action.
