rafa

name doesnt speak everything.
just because we are buying 2nd tiers or unknown players does not mean
that they are second choices.

i think that, first of all we must understand that rafa does not play the same player week in week out. he uses the rotation policy. imagine what would happened if your superstars only get to play like 70% of the total matches in a season and the possibility of being sub out every now and then.... that wouldnt turn out well, would it?

Next thing u know is that some shitface idiot is handing their request to transfer.

therefore, by resisiting the temptation to buy superstar (singular) player, we are able to avoid such problem. players who are NOT superstars tend to be more humble and content with what they can get. (with the exception of gerrard and alonso, superstars but do not complain)

now i think that u r going to ask, why does he buy Torres then? Answer to that: Rafa wants a backbone, frm GK -> ST. currently, his bb is Reina - Carragher - Gerrard - ??? .. no one at the ST role. By recruiting Torres, hopefully he'll be the superstar among the STs and becoming our backbone for the team.

second, buying 2 for the price of 1, offers rafa more variety, choices and addtional 'dimension' to the team. for e.g. our strikers. bellamy runs, crouch heads, kuty is a madcow, fowler finishes. voila~

Purchasing unknown/lesser players could provide surplus to fund the purchase of another dimension. no doubt that this could only help with rafa's tinkering style~ not to mention that this offers a more dangerous attacking option to rafa, as he could deploy a more effective striker against certain kind of defenders..

e.g. Crouch against short defenders, Bell against experienced but slow pacers, Kuyt draining the low-stamina/lazy defenders.

I do admit that when rafa does his rotation policy, I HATE IT alot. but hey, he is the man who brought us to the UCL final, twice! I doubt that that is pure luck. But in my opinion, the problem the tactics is that it focuses mainly on counter attack. In my view, rafa should decorate his tactics more, with say, possession style/ short passing/ more attacking minded, because, I know, I believe, I have faith that our players can play exciting, attacking football too!

Minus Finnan and our two CBs, we put in eight attacking minded players!! but that is not our style as rafa prefers to play it safe, deploying a Def Midfielder. but still... one thing is that, we play too many long balls. short passing = exciting attractive game = more goals.

i believe that this could be our year.

Rafa, let's do it.
