Portable Scanner

Do you know that portable scanner is really useful these days?

If you have a laptop, you can essentially scan your documents anywhere at anytime. In your car, while you are rushing to work, all you need to do is just plug it in and scan you documents. It saves time compare to scanning it at home. You can also bring it to 'work' at a coffee shop, and do any necessary scanning there while you sip you iced tea, rather than doing a takeaway and rush to a nearby scanning service around the area.

ScanShell 2000N, is one of those many portable scanners available in the market. Its a A4 sheet fed scanner. One of the features that I really like is the speed. It scans 6 ppm (Six pages per minute), Colored. That is even faster than the scanners at the libraries. I think that its speed is really important. If its portable, and its speed is like 1-3ppm, then its not useful at all.

It weights about 330g, which means its easy to be carried around. Its power comes from the USB2.0, which means that you'll only need one cable, rather than having one data and one power cable separately. The USB 2.0 allows you to connect to most computers these days, whether it be PC or MAC.

Scan2Contacts is the business scanner and software for Microsoft Outlook. It is easy to use and if you are a Microsoft Outlook user you will like it a lot as it is fully integrated into the program. It is the only program that allows you to scan the business cards directly into Microsoft Outlook. I believe that working adults that have regular meetings with people will find this item useful in organising their daily lives.

Indian flavored.

rs

I slept 1/2 way talking to Li Lin again yday night. Was watching RAW till abt 210 ish before i KOed. :( damn sad lor, I mean, i want to watch till the end mar. If sleep and missed Li Lin I don't mind, at least make the sacrifice worth while. x_X

Now its like cannot meet both ends of the bridge.. lol

Anyways, I started my morning feeling really tired and sleepy. I thought about my luggage and it gave me headache really. I thought about buying laptop then I won't be so fan. But I anti-laptop one. how? If I buy laptop then i dont need the monitor. But anyways I just realised that I need to bring home my pillow and comforter too, so ... more goods into the box dy.

I went and window shopped for cameras. Radio Rentals, JBs and Harvey Norman wasn't really helpful. Mark frm Dick Smith was very helpful, now I shortlist my camera to two only. Canon's IXUS 75D ( I THINK) and Olympus 790SW (:P) . Personally I love 790SW for its shockproof. Guys like me will find it really useful. It is also waterproof 3m. :) so I can use it to swimming pool and beach and snorkeling and stuff.. :) I don't think I'll buy Canon, unless because of the price lor.

did some AIESEC stuff while waiting for 4pm to meet with David. helped Sui to use the scanning upstairs. we waited for David at McDs and it was really funny cos' like Sui just waved at him in front of the manager.. lol. ADVICE: NEVER EVER ARRANGE TO MEET AT A RESTAURANT unless you want to test your control and resistance. lol. Robbie, Sui and I were like staring at the menu and tempted to order something. I caved in but after Robbie mentioned about the uncertainty of the size, I woke up.. lol

Then on the way to Starbucks, David mentioned that he gets 1/2 price for the McD food..

We ordered Signature Iced Choc... which was okay. Personally I prefer bean bar much much more. Anyways, after the chat, I am really glad that David is feeling okay and doesn't feel to worried about the exchange/ situation in Chennai.

David & me

I had dinner with Lauryn at Raj on Taj, apparently its very popular, even my sis knows abt it! :)
I had goat, which tastes like lamb to me. Coconut naan was funny.

didnt do joggin today. :(

finally i know what girth means, which then what happened this morning abt me thinking hard abt my luggage doesnt need to happened :P lol

any last points? mmm... going out for meal with Anita, sorting payment for conference and SOCCER!!! Adelaide United v Central Coast! :D should be interesting

=) i wrote a 'song' today. might post it here someday. if its okay.

ta! off to spidey 3

trips, trips, trips.

hmm.. anything interesting ahh..
Today, i went to city. i managed to sort out David's and the documents for my cousin!

meeting with David tmr, meeting with Lauryn tmr as well! :)

i am planning to buy Backpackers for David if he likes card games.

i took photo of Andy today.

didnt go jogging cos i ended up over crapping with some one and spent the most of the time to patch things back.. lol.. (or is this an excuse for not going to jogging? :P)

i wrote some cards for xmas' sending them tmr. most likely will be belated.

LIVERPOOL TROUNCED Marseille and become the first something team to win at their stadium. :) Looking forward to this weekend. VIVA REDS!

yup thats all i got for now.

=) tis is great.

Cape Jervis & rest of Dec 11

I like this photo heaps!

Fleurieu Penisula's map from the paperbag of my food: steak and bacon pie ( i ordered another meat n veg later on, it wasn't as good). If you look at the pic, you can find Yankalilla and Cape Jervis. Adelaide probably 20-30mins drive from Noarlunga if I am right. (Noarlunga is like the end station of our Adelaide Metorbus, whereby you switch to country buses over there)

I tried Lemmington too. Its like our kuih that we did we shaved coconut. Lemmington is an Aussie cake.. according to Kylie and Jen.

Fucking scary clown. Look at 'him'. Jeez!

Kylie and Jen. (A fly landed on my mouth while I was taking this pic)

There were flies everywhere at that idiotic place. We took the photo below so many times before we got it right. One pic, Kylie has fly on her face. lol.

There were very nice scenery along the way. I didn't took too many and those I that I took aren't good representations of what I saw. I took a photo of the sea, of which dolphins were 'playing', jumping in and out of the sea. It was really cool cos' thats my first time seeing wild dolphs. After that I bought a coffee fo Jen and we went home. I was still trying to fix her seat belt when we got back into the car but its impossible!!

I came back and I went back out to the city to sort out the documents that ah peen kor2 needs. I talked to Andy at the office. Have to call him for the outing this weekend. :) Oh, I borrowed Hoodwinked and Hero to ease my boredom, if I need to. I went to Coles with sister after that, took some pics of Ethan while I was in the car. and I bought chips and Choc chips home, in case if I ever miss Australia.

Anyways, today has been a turning point day i think. for something else.

I've talked to Ian today. I appreciate how he showed concerns when I wrote in my nick 'all the troubles'. AND HE IS THE ONLY ONE who asked!!! If you were online then and you read my nick and didn't bother asking, shame on you!!! tsk tsk tsk..

i've sorted out some meeting stuff , I can see that there are too many things to do, even though I don't do much everyday. lol.

Hopefully I'll meet up with Faith and Moon tmr for lunch. Next week I'm meeting up with Godwin, Andrea, Jen (at least) for dinner and with Finance ppl for dinner/lunch. This weekend HOPEFULLY i'll go out with James KQ and co. I've started asking friends about NY Eve plans cos' Lydia asked me about it. Where to go this time? I must make it different but great at the same time!!

i never hear from Karo yet, sigh, can't lock down other plans, feel kinda bad.

in less than one hour I'll be watching Liverpool's game. liverpool lost this weekend but its OK cos Arsenal did as well. But its a pity. How we lost to Reading when it should have been another 3points. Ahh..

David, my EP, is going to have some problem now. Just now (like 4-5hrs ago), Sui send me an email on the status of AIESEC in Chennai. Its bad. Real bad. And David is going there. I need to talk to Sui and Chloe, before I talked to David. Personally I would tell him everything and see what he wants to do about it. I would want him not to go but of course there are other factors coming into play, such as purchased air tickets and other expenses incurred. It would be silly not to. =( I really feel sad if he were to go and suffered like Rhiannon did. Its just not fair.

that said, my sam is not lor2 luen, not now anyway.

nightz & morning to you.

after all that, went to dept of immigration. puuz! so stupid! so troublesome now.... i dont think i will be coming back for staying here permanently but i don't want to lose that option u knw? so i need to talk to the peeps and make sure that i can let this expire and then apply for another one when i come back next time.

=)

Courage and hope. i wrote these two words on my left palm. :)

i told my friend the other day 'u determine how interesting u want your life to be'. i think that a person's life, how interesting it is, is a subjective q. I might do something i like that u may not. i might enjoy something that you don't. i might find something interesting that bores you. my point is, whatever it is, alwys alwys alwys alwys look at the bright side. and choose to be happy and interesting. lol

^_^

i wanna go for a walk and a jog. i call it.. wogging.

*wink

brownies are GOOD! :P

JEN is the best!!! She is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sweet and nice!! She wanted to bring brownies over for me on Friday, but I didn't picked up her call, so we ended up meeting at her work place, Ikea, on Saturday for lunch. The brownies are are YUMMY! lol. Damn sad lor. Cos' its like, I think I need to workout a LOT to offset the sugar intake. X_X

But anyway, I had a good time talking to her. I really appreciate it. =) I don't appreciate the baked chicken though from the cafeteria... should have gone for meatballs.. lol

I think that, one of the thing that a few people have been mentioning to me is that they can't believe I am leaving and not coming back. (Awww to myself) Its just soooo heart-warming to actually have people, not just one person, say that to you. ANd its like these are not like the people that I met last year. These are the people that I've only met like April-ish onwards. Its really crazy, @.

Kay sent me that URL. It's about playing an educational vocabulary game whilst doing a good deed of donating rice to someone who really needs it. According to the website, the rice donation are made through United Nations, and that the rice are sponsored by organisations that advertise themselves in ads when the game is played. Honestly, if you ask me, I don't know whether how much we play really changes how much the company sponsors, but I like to believe. Besides, it is really fun when you learn about new words. It doesn't take too long to play a few games, and you don't have to 'save', each time you got the answer right, BAM! you did a good thing already! so yah... when you are short in good deeds, try this!!

I'm going to borrow camera from my sister for the whole of next week while I m going to research on camera before purchasing one of my own. My plan for next week is that to take all the photos I should take before going home, esp with the people here.

thats pretty much it. another 40mins before liverpool v reading starts.

do we need insurance?

I admit. All the while, I do think that insurance is an unnecessary expenditure.

I feel its like a bet. If you put in a lot of on insurance, you are feeling insecure about yourself & your possessions. You feel that something might happen, that's why you place a 'bet' that you will lose something. If you win, you'll receive the compensation on your loss. If you lose, you lose the money spent on insurance.

On the other hand, I do understand that accidents occur, and there will be days that your lady luck goes on holiday and you can only wish that you have bought insurance. The problem is that, most of us people thinks or believes that the cost of insurance outweighs the benefits. I am one of those people. Its like... I don't value my health or any of my possessions enough that I will buy insurance now. (But I do have an insurance, i think... my dad pay one.. heheh)

Of course, like everyone else, as you wealth increases, the benefit of insurance increases as well. Maybe when I am a few years into my working years, own several assets, then perhaps at that time, insurance would be appropriate. I will definitely buy insurance for my Prius (if I got one), seeing how poor a driver I am. lol. Definitely. Yeah, never thought about it but now I DO THINK THAT I NEED and MUST HAVE Car insurance when I own a car. And when I do, I should compare car insurance across all the providers. But as for now, a young adult who has just graduated, money can be use in a better way. ;)

However, I do think that I will be purchasing my first insurance soon, or at least I hope so. Travel insurance. ^_^

I still have years before I need to think about Home insurance.

feeling better

i feel alot better after talking to her and after all the chats i had (yes i dont know why i 'confess' abt it to my friends right away, well i think i do... maybe cos i just needed to share it with someone) but thats only to few la. others are like so ngam they ask abt me and gf then.... or else i wouldn't really want to tell.

anyways, nick's and ccw's really stand out .. hl u suck. :P lol

i think like among all, the weirdest thing for me was actually talking abt itwit my sister... i don't really talk to oboth of them about things that i do. so.. yeah.

i m OK. ( yes i have to keep telling myself that because i know i am or i can be, but u know how heart v mind works. you have to tell ur mind to tell ur heart that its OK )

goin' out later for a transition with godwin, kenny and Aleks for Finance regional meeting. then work then come home :)

16 days till i reach KL - 17 days till i reach temporary home

sigh.. what to do for Christmas leh?

I don't want to be that guy who stays at home alone at that time!!! But most likely i will la, Christmas = family celebration. =)

I read this guide on going back home from my uni. I shd set my expectations on whats going to happen and accept the differences i am about to face when i go back. i think that i did that but now i need to layout things to do when i got back home.

1 - talk to yj
2 - find job?
3 - plan outings!
4 - cleanup
5 - shop for working clothes i guess? :S ( not really that important yet)

life is good and life goes on ^_^
i m sad but i m OK. hehe

silent breakup

i am single again.
not sad not happy.
not glad not disappointed.
no tears no joy.
no extreme reaction.

only heartbroken, a little.

talked for 5hrs+. i guess everything should be OK. don't really know what to think much now. i'll close my eyes and hope for 23rd comes tomorrow

life isn't perfect, life isn't fair.
i like to dream of things that isn't real
painful it maybe, but it is a quiet one.

14.02.07 - 6/12/07

things could be much different, or so i dream.

blogging > facebook

I am getting old. lol. No, its not the white hair, wrinkly skin kind of old. The kind where people on the street, your friends that are about the same age and you and media are talking, using, enjoying items that you don't like.

Everytime I got onto Facebook, I gave a good stroll down from top to bottom of the request/invitation list. I accept the friend request. Then look at others, Tattoo from Sya2 (which was there since the beginning) to DOTA from HP, I never accept them. I have this concept of organised page, and I don't think that having those gifts, games, tests would actually give me that.

I enjoy blogging a lot. I love to write. Even though I don't create the atmosphere that makes people wants to read my blog, that's not really my point. I just like typing away all that's on my mind at that time. I like how I can come back here and read posts several months ago and remembered what I was thinking and feeling that time.

-- sorry!, just stopped to write an email to Godwin for Friday's meeting. lol not to say you guys feel the 'stop' =P

anyways, i just like typing... i think it has something to do with the fact that every single button u press it pops up right on to the screen. its like inputing your mind right away. :) hehe

mm one more thing, that I won't really blog directly is about what i feel about someone at the moment. its hard, you know, balancing between trusting someone else an d trusting yourself MORE. i don't know. but to me, if say i look from where i am know, i can tell you that i feel that i shouldn't be where i am. but i'm reluctant to do anything at the moment (thats how i feel now anyway, might end up doing something anyways later .. lol) i'm mean, like, you would think that you know yourself better, but sometimes you tend to make yourself less happy for someone else, even though thats not love.

thats how i feel about things, right now.

PPP sign up here

thinking day

thought about a lot of things today. more than usual dosage that i do.

I was sick since Sunday due to the short shorts and thin clothes i wore to German town and Mt Lofty. been sneezing the whole day. it was strange cos' it was sort of normal for me to sneeze during a cold day, but not to get sick. it was also strange that the fact that my sister actually ask me take pills, when usually i sneeze nw n then and she don't even bother. it wasn't till that night i realised that its bad. first sick in months.. July the Melbourne conference disease.

anyways, in the morning, i decided to take a walk after Ethan woke up and stopped me from playing more Wii. During the walk, I thought about alot of things, PR, Tax, Superannuation, going home, Li Lin, 10 year plan, exchange, coming back to Australia, car or house?.... The walk really helped to clear my mind on few major decisions that I would make in the coming weeks. Now I'll have to retrieve more information from the respective people.

I've decided that to let my PR expire, unless I would not be able to get another one after that. This is because I know that I won't be back anytime soon (if I am able to go on exchange and get a job in KL while waiting for exchange) and that after that I am more keen to work in KL rather than in Aus at the moment. I forsee myself to work in KL for at least a few years, and perhaps during that time I will apply for secondment to countries around the world. Following on this, I will have to sort out my tax as well as my super, which I have to enquire from the tax office as well as Natalie and Anita.

I know that going back to KL to work is not because I want to be with my friends. I questioned myself, what if HL/CCW is not there or I do not have Li Lin by my side? Will I still prefer to go back or stay here. The thing is that that decision will not affect what I am doing next year (exchange), it will only affect the time after my exchange period. I thought about staying and working here in Aus, and staying and working in KL. I feel that I will be more comfortable interacting with fellow workers at home. (That doesn't mean that I do not enjoy talking to Aussies, its just that I find it more difficult) Also, I guess one of the important question that I need to pose during my interview with any firms is "How is the working environment like in the company? What sort of environment to you envision your company to be like? Do you support a interactive, socially active work place?" I know that interaction between people will be something that I value a lot.

I did think about my transportation method in KL as well. I am reluctant to borrow car from kammo, because its not mine and there is no reason why she should borrow it to us, esp. how dad sold the car that I could have use when I go back. Plus, its not nice to drive someone else's car to somewhere where u dont really need to go. Also, Jo Ann did remind me of how careless I am when driving. I think that, maybe its good that perhaps I do not have a car then. Of course going out will be an issue, maybe I'll spend a lot on taxis but maybe that is a good way of keeping things minimal and appreciate it more. I'll also be looking forward to fixing the bike which dad said is broken. Biking around in KL along the highway is not a good idea, but I think if I can carefully ride it thru the small alleys and keeping at a slow pace, it should be OK. So say I want to go to BU frm Prima 17. Bike along seksyen 17 to ss2, then walk the bike across to DU, cross to Uptown and to BU. lol.. its not easy. but its definitely interesting (and VERY healthy... and tiring.. lol)

Later then, on the bus with ccw and deanna to port adelaide, we've talked about relationships, religion and friends. Its just hmmm really interesting how people are... when we talked about Catherine and Amanda. Hmm.

PayPerPost Blog

OK, this is going to be my first post on my pathway to making my own income through blog advertising. This post, if accepted, it will bring me $20!! :) I think... unless there are some unforeseen issues (e.g. rejection or some minor technical problems).

I first got introduced to PPP by my sister (read post titled PPPed & 24ed). I am really excited about making a living out of typing at home, in front of your computer, sipping your favourite drink while watching your DVD, all these on your lazy chair.

I've recently talked to my sister and I've realised that most of my cousins are all influenced by my other sister to give this PPP a go. Well, to me, I see more than just monetary benefits from PPP.

Other benefits include
- self-expression. The more you write, the easier you are able to express yourself to your audience. Also, through PPP, you'll have an increased incentive to write more about things that you probably don't know much about, which then encourage you to do some research on the product, which then will lead you to new words most of the time. I think that you'll increase your vocab as well, as you search for new words to express your mind and heart.

- improving your English. If English is not your first language, no doubt that PPP creates that extra 'umph' to push you to the deeper end where you won't feel comfortable. Writing in English. Not only this challenges you to do something that you are afraid of, it rewards you for doing that with new found hobby as well as additional revenue, which no one can say no to. ;D

I can only think of those two extra benefits at the moment, but obviously, the benefits and costs are different to each individual. Some might see value it more than others, while some do not see the opportunity in this chance to do something more.

To me, I really like the idea of having my own personal space, which is not advertised, obviously, with what's going to happened with PPP, no doubt that what my ideal blog is no longer there. But life is not perfect. So are ideas. As I am moving towards the young adult stage, I have the responsibility to earn my own living to support myself, rather than still relying on my sisters and dad.

To you, I think that, it is up to you whether you would like to pursue this opportunity. My advice, talk to me, or people you know about this. It won't hurt you to know something more about something else that you know little.

82 & 68 My Magic Numbers!

I graduated! WOOOOOOOOT! lol

though i feel my grades are inferior to most of my friends... but I am satisfied. I think one of the reason why i dont do well in exams since i m in adelaide is that I don't bother memorizing stuff? I try to understand the concepts. Full stop thats it.

=)
BUT NONETHELESS.. Its over, its done. =)

PLanning for future is what i need to do now.. call dad.. sort things with him.. then plan further into my timeline in kl, what i want to do , when i want to do, how much i need to survive...

=)

EXCITING TIMEs!

great nights, dull weekend

hmm had two fantastic evenings during the week, one was the RB handover and the other was our last EB get together as a whole outing.

RB Handover
It was on Thursday evening at King's Head, which according to friends, think it was Godwin, that this is where u can get kangaroo steak. I haven't had one yet so it was a good time to give it a go. However, on the day itself, I realised that the event was meant only for drinks and cocktails, dinner is at an earlier time. I decided to then make some dinner of my own, which was really.. 'innovative'. Lemme c, I fried scramble eggs with cheese, with tomato and lettuce, and i mixed them with cut toast.

Neways, I had a great time talking with people there. A lot of people were commenting on my hair... (i gelled, which was something i haven't do since I came back) This was the first time I meet up with Andrea & Godwin for quite awhile. The last time it was dinner at the Thai restaurant, sometime in Oct.

After all the chatting n stuff, I walked to the bus stop which Sui. I had a great time talking to her. I feel really bad that I did not get to know her when I could before. :( She's this really interesting person, she's like one of those people that has the Western attitude but still able to keep her Asian look. lol..

EB outing
We went to this restaurant SaulDelChin i think... its owned by one of the economics lecturer frm my uni. The place is really awesome. The decorations, the music makes the whole environment a perfect place to have drinks and chat with friends. I think that this is the kind of place that people should go out to, not to pubs where all you can hear is the 'background' music and shout to converse with friends next to you (which is what i feel later at Karo's farewell, the place was so packed). Katherine intro us to this Artisan tea that the tea leaf itself will bloom into a flower once its in the boiling water. I ordered that with Robbie, along wit some dim sum.. lol.. I think this is the first time i had dim sum for dinner since the last time I went out to the Fatt Kee in Taman Mayang at night with family. That was like ages back, but its still on my mind cos its just one of those weird thing happened in your life... dim sum for dinner... lol

The wine that Simon got was really good. Its the first wine that I actually like the taste. It doesnt have the dry rough after taste. Really smooth.

---------------
other things that have happened

sis and family is back.... which is good la, that I at least have someone at home with me.. :)

I tripped over sis's luggage two nights ago... i cut my left palm and bruised my right hand.... the cut couldnt stop bleeding had the apply pressure constantly fr like the first 10 mins... At the moment, I am trying not to stretch/open my left hand too wide as it my reopen the wound.
I bruised my right arm. I don't know how did it get to this state. Actually, i dont know how both my hands end of the way they are.. It was just a common tripover by me.. lol.. But yeah.. this bruised got swollen right away after the fall.. When I look at it, I can see theres the yellowy cells (platlet i think) grouping over there... I think Its where the veins are, so perhaps the knock hit the blood cells, causing them to clot over there. :S never want to see this again.. hopefully there aint no scar..

Y2J is BACK!!

my all-time favourite wrestling player is back at WWE! :D
Chris Jericho, left the company about two years ago, came back to RAW on Monday!! He cut his hair, real short but slick. He uses his old theme, as well as his outfit did not change much, shiny vest :) When I saw him, the strong sensation of 'the Hero is back, better than ever!' really powerful feeling that I seldom feel for shows.

I stopped watching wrestling since WWE merged with WCW, but I got into it again when its on Foxtel every weekend. :)

Now, I can't wait to see the lionsault followed with Walls of Jericho! Perhaps he'll give Randy Orton his very own RKO! :D

When I saw the random odd clip with its matrix design, I have a gut feeling telling me that its Jericho. There was a Y and J somewhere throughout the clip, plus the quote break the wall.

on random note, I watch a Futurama episode which is really sad the other day. Its the one where Fry died and Leela kept dreaming about him, but actually it was Leela who got hopitalised and Fry was by her side all the time.
=) I had tears watching this.

clean up!

It is always nice to get things sorted, which is exactly what I did today. I've swept, mopped, re-arranged, binned and showered. :$ lol

I even managed to organized my papers/texts, I've got like a pile of papers set next to my drawers waiting to be recycled.

I didn't go out to the city today, like how I planned. I wanted to go to city to buy some ingredients and return Ice Age. But I end up making another heavy western BIG brunch. =)

I think my notes/transition docs for Aleks is roughly about 70-80% done. It is more about the practical side now.

I haven't see Kit Mun online yet.. lol

David is matched! but there are still so many craps to follow up. Will be busy doing that as well..

Plans for tmr --> go city, return DVD, go marion, shop/walk around, go Lauryn's, come home.

i'm still waiting to tell sis about the 'broken' toilet and water filter... which i have no idea how they got to that state...

dream

It was a strange dream.  Earlier it was me hanging out for lunch with Ks n SY at a hawker corner lot. Ccw joined us later. I shared the loca...
